Use Google News (https://news.google.com/) or another news source to find a news article that presents statistics from a research study. Articles about science, health, the economy, political polls, and even sports often contain such statistics. Read the article. Then address the following questions:
How were statistics used in the article?
What information was included about the research study? For instance, did the article list how many people were surveyed, or what data was used to produce the statistics and where that data came from?
Did the statistics referenced in the article add credibility to the article? Why or why not?
Based on your judgement, were the statistics presented in an effective and responsible manner? Why or why not?
