Description
Choose a video or audio clip, deconstruct the scene, and apply what you have learned about rhetorical analysis. Also pay attention to the language conventions are used in the scene, and how these indicate who the audience is and how the author/create of the scene is trying to communicate with the audience. To give you some ideas for how to tackle this assignment, review the rhetorical analysis of Taylor Swift’s video, Blank Space, by Teach Argument that is embedded in the Video & Links page of this module. You may want to browse some of the other rhetorical analysis videos that are located on the Teach Argument YouTube channel as well. Although the video can be helpful, it is a spoken example of rhetorical analysis. You will prepare a written example of rhetorical analysis in the form of an essay. You may provide quotes from your selection or share the points (in minutes) that you want to highlight for your analysis. Your rhetorical analysis should be three to four pages and it should be written in APA format. You should include a reference list with the video or audio clip cited. If you use other sources to write your paper, please include those sources in the reference list as well.
