Assessment 1 – Personal Essay – 15%
The aim of this directed learning assessment is to encourage learners to actively participate in their learning by providing feedback to their understanding of key topics that we have covered so far. This assessment also serves as exam practice as it takes a similar form to the essay questions in section C of the written exam.
For this assessment, learners are required to write a personal essay on the given topic. The essay should be 500 words (+/- 10%) and uploaded to blackboard before the deadline. Learners should reference the material we have studied in the lectures. In order to get a higher mark, I would encourage the use of reading of academic material from outside our course material to supplement the points made in the essay. These sources should be referenced using the Harvard style.
