Workout plan:
1. Create a one-week workout plan for 5 days out of the week. Each day should be different.
(May be in table format to show each day and the exercises).
2. Tell the goal for the day [muscle group(s)] and component of fitness (strength/endurance/cardio/flexibility). *Cardio & flexibility may only be used once*
3. What is the duration of the workout for each day?
4. List the exercises that will be used for each day (remember to use variety). (Use activities you are familiar with from class OR you may describe new exercises in detail. I must be able to tell what exercises you are using – use popular names, not made up ones).
a. Tell how many reps, sets, and estimated weight planned for sets. Minimum exercises per day – three.
5. After completing your workout plan, choose 2 exercises of the following to explain what is “good form” for each. Be sure to include common mistakes & the muscle(s) used.
a. Choose two of the following: 1) push-ups; 2) lunges; 3) squat; 4) pull ups; 5) plank
Justification Essay:
Type one page in addition to your workout plan (double spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman) (do not include your name, etc. on the page) to explain: 1) How would you define your level of experience (beginner, intermediate, experienced; expert); Why you chose each of the exercises you used – 3-5 sentences; 2) your decisions for reps/sets, and if you increased weight/reps/ in relation to the components of fitness that were used (refer to concepts taught in the workbook); 3) What is the relationship between activity and quality of life and longevity? 4) How will this plan help you to achieve your personal (SMART) fitness goals in the future? (if needed, set new ones); 5) How can you use this plan in the future? 6) What feedback do you have after taking this course?
