Assignment Introduction and Learning Goals
ERP systems are Enterprise Resource Planning systems. These systems integrate systems that are essential to running a business, including inventory and order management , financials, human resources, project management, manufacturing management, inventory management, purchasing management, quality management, sales management and product technology.
Being a Supply Chain professional you may be involved in choosing a vendor to provide you with an ERP system. TEC Software Evaluation helps organizations to evaluate and select the most appropriate ERP software for their needs. As a Supply Chain professional not only may you be involved in the evaluation and selection of the software you will also be using some of the systems the ERP software offers to do your day to day responsibilities.

- Identify the key factors, options and drivers to be considered when designing, planning and coordinating a supply chain.
- Use leadership, communication and supply chain knowledge to make strategic decisions that result in optimal business performance.

Assignment Instructions
Part A
Following the instructions on the Introduction to TEC Campus Programs your team is to register themselves and then login using their Special Access Key (PR3018).
After you have entered the Special Access Key you will be taken to the page that contains the Model(s) for your course. Each team will be given a Case and Project # to use. Please click on the project that goes with your Case and click continue.
Choose the “Select Vendors” option, which will bring you to the list of available vendors. Checkmark the vendors and you can begin your project. To see the categories of the characteristics of the vendors, go to “Prioritize Needs” and to compare how the vendors weigh against one another in the selected characteristics, go to “Compare Results”.
Using these results choose a vendor for your Case. Get approval for your chosen vendor from you professor.
Part B
Prepare a presentation on the ERP vendor you have chosen. Your presentation should cover at least the following topics:
- Why did you choose the ERP vendor for your case? Use information / data / graphs from the TEC tool to justify your answers
- Provide some information on the ERP system you have chosen. This information can come from the TEC database and outside research.
- What Modules (finance, sales, procurement, manufacturing etc) does the software provide?
- What are the costs or how does the software compare cost wise with other systems?
- What industries is this ERP system typically used in?
- What are the size of the companies that typically use this system?
- What ratings are given to this software system?
- Is this ERP software system an on premise or cloud based system?
- What platforms (Mac OS, Windows, Linux) does this ERP software system run off of?
- Other interesting information: well known companies that use it, customer reviews, implementation ease, stories of companies’ experiences etc.
- References in proper APA format
- Your presentation should be 5-10 minutes (you will be cut off at 10 minutes)
- Your presentation should be done using Power Point and should have detailed speaker notes.
- Everyone in your group should participate in the preparation of the presentation. Everyone is to present.
- Follow the recommendations for presentations found in the document “2022-FEB-NTB-Writing Reports for Business SCM Program” found on the FOL course site in Module 12.
Due Date
Power Point slides with detailed speaker notes are due night prior to Module 13 class, 10:00 pm.
Groups will present live in Module 13 class.
Peer Evaluations and Group Evaluations are due at the end of Module 13 class.
How to Submit your Assignment
Submit the Power Point slides with detailed speaker notes to the submissions folder on FOL titled: ERP Systems Research Assignment SUBMISSION
Submit a hard copy of the Peer Evaluation to the professor at the end of Module 13 class.
Submit a hard copy of the Group Evaluation to the professor at the end of Module 13 class.
