Description
Consider the discussion offered in the article, “Do environmental regulations really ‘kill jobs’? The data says no.”
What are your views on environmental regulations and jobs?
How can we improve retraining and retention programs?
What can be done to encourage people to support environmental regulations who live in areas likely to be adversely impacted in the short-term?
Is there a way to save every community that is built around fossil-fuel extraction, which seems to need less and less regulatory costs in order to stay competitive? What happens to communities during ever-increasing regulatory burdens on these key industries?
Is there any way to support both sides? Some regulations may be undue burdens, other regulations may be quite beneficial.
Or! Read up on the current de-regulation trends that are happening and give us a synopsis, take a position, and then argue for your position! Here is an example of rolling back the protections for streams and wetlands: https://www.npr.org/2020/01/ 23/798809951/trump- administration-is-rolling- back-obama-era-protections- for-smaller-waterways
