This assignment is aimed at establishing a “practical understanding” of general project planning and allocation of resources in a way that is meaningful to the role of a senior manager, who is providing oversight or sponsorship for portfolios, projects and/or programs. Your basic mission is to describe how you would address resource planning in a multi-project environment. It is expected that each student will develop his/her own resource allocation method. Please keep in mind that there is no exact way to do this, so please be creative and develop a method and report that you believe best meets your specific needs. When completing the Resource Allocation Method Report, it is important to ensure that NO specific information concerning any individual project need to be provided in the report. The objective of this assignment is to address both labor and non-labor resource planning in general. The report should be a minimum of 2 pages (double spaced) in length, plus sources. APA format. In the report, summarize the importance of proper resource (labor and non-labor) planning, utilization, and tracking. Your report will discuss some of the following topics:
• Importance of proper resource planning and allocation to project and/or program success.
• Relationship of resource planning and allocation to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
• Relationship of resource planning and allocation to the project schedule
• Challenges of completing resource allocation (loading) across multiple projects
