Description
RESEARCH PAPERS FORMAL CITING:
- INTEXT—-whenever you present information in your paper that’s not common knowledge –example: “The Coronavirus caused widespread closing of businesses.” -no citation necessary because we all know this.
When info appears in your paper that’s not common knowledge-example: “The virus begins on coastal areas and works its way inland.” With this you need an intext citation. It can appear right after the fact as in “The virus begins on coastal areas and works its way inland (Morris) That’s all that is necessary—and if you are using more info from the same source you can put the (Morris) at the end of the paragraph.
(Morris) refers the reader to the Citation Page where the reader will find the complete source which could look like this:
Morris, Jack. “The Virus as it Progresses.” cnn.com. 6 April 2020. May23 2020
Note that line—it is exactly how all your source listings should look on your Citation Page: author’s name, title of article, website, date posted, dated researched
If there is no author available:
Go by TITLE:
“The Virus as it Progresses.” cnn.com. 6 April 2020. May 23 2020
CITATION PAGE LISTINGS ARE ALPHABETICAL BY AUTHOR’S LAST NAME OR TITLE OF ARTICLE. GOOD LUCK!
