The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act is designed to allow both prospective and current students aware of a college or university’s commitment to providing equitable athletic opportunities to men and women. All post-secondary institutions are required to disclose revenue, expense and participation numbers to the NCAA by division, sport and gender on a regular basis. The raw data submission for 2021 is attached below.

Using pivot tables and other modeling, develop 4 hypotheses about the data results, and then test whether or not each of these hypotheses are true. The workbook you submit should have at least 5 worksheets(1 worksheet with the original data and 4 worksheets of hypothesis testing). Each worksheet should contain the original hypothesis, and the conclusion after creating a pivot table and/or model to analyze the actual data.
For example:
Hypothesis 1: Within Division III colleges/universities (with or without football), the expenditures for both men’s and women’s swimming are the same.
After creating a pivot table, adding sums, and applying filters, the expenses for women’s swimming in Division 3 programs are higher than the men’s swimming programs. As a result, I went back in and added the number of participants, and the number of women swimmers in D3 is significantly higher than the number of men swimmers.
Save your pivot table and hypothesis work on each worksheet, and clearly label your hypothesis and your conclusions.
