1- understand descriptively the major points of the reading ( recap main concepts) 2- critically engage
with the readings (ex. does the author present a convincing argument)is the evidence sound?is the
methodology appropriate? is there a blind spot in the author's reasoning? 3- relate the reading to class
discussion, ( mention that we discussed- i want you to focus in tables 2 to 4 are the most important.
make important conclusion or elaborate in them more and with giving example of raise and fall – this is a
gender course so it is important to focus in women. 4- raise 3 effective questions for discussion. these
may include one clarification question and two substantive questions that can serve as the basis for
discussion.
