Assignment 10: Analysis & Discussion
The Analysis & Discussion section of the Argumentative Essay, or Final Inquiry Project should be 3 Paragraphs (approximately 1-1.5 pages).
FORMAT: Use BOLD font—no indentation—in the left margin and label the subsection as follows:
IV. Analysis & Discussion
First Paragraph:
Discuss your thesis position in relation to the Literature Review section summaries of 2 peer-reviewed research articles on the topic living up to Family’s Expectations.
Explain your premises, or reasons why you hold your thesis; and defend your point-of-view to someone who holds an opposing view. Charitably explain the best reasons why someone may hold an opposing viewpoint. Then offer a rebuttal that explains why you have better reasons, and offer a least one example.
Second Paragraph:
Explain how your research findings contribute new knowledge—personally and/or to the field of your study. Explain if, how, and why, after conducting research and investigating the problem, your initial position and/or thinking about the problematic issues changed. Did your study and exploration of the experts’ published literature reframe your understanding or inspire you to seek further research support for your position(s)? Did your investigation bring more clarity to an existing debate in the field? Spell-out the consequences and implications of the information you obtained.
Third Paragraph:
Discuss Data Collection displays—Pie Chart, Table, Graph, Image, Survey Instrument, etc. that you will include in Appendix II, Appendix III, etc.
