Remember when a statute (also known as law) is broken down into its individual elements only the language of the statute is used. Also, note that KRS means Kentucky Revised Statutes which is the state law of Kentucky.
The statute is:
A person is guilty of false swearing when he makes a false statement which he does not believe under oath required or authorized by law.
False swearing is a Class B misdemeanor.
