Happy almost weekend class!
To help with our overall class grades (because I know how challenging this course can be, especially in the online format!), I have allocated 5% of the total class grade to a Biology Career Brochure assignment! This activity is worth 100pts. and 5% of the total class grade and should be another very quick and easy to complete and a very easy A grade booster!
Due by end of day 4/19/24.
Biology Career Brochure activity instructions.
1- Check out the “career brochure” module under canvas modules. I have posted a list of about 50 biology careers, a sample biology career brochure, and the grading rubric for how this activity will be graded. Choose a “NON-HEALTH” biology career you have considered or that sounds interesting.
So NO doctor, dentist, vet, physician assistant, physical therapist, nurse, allied health med tech, etc.
This is to introduce you to TONS of other careers out there if you have an interest in science and biology that do not have to be in a health field, because as you know these health fields can be highly competitive!
2- Visit www.bls.gov (bureau of labor statistics) as a great place to begin gathering info on the career you chose.
3- Using the grade rubric provided and the sample career brochure, create a Trifold Career Brochure on the biology career that you chose.
There are lots of free brochure templates on the web, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, canva, etc.
4- Submit your career brochure to this group discussion, checkout a classmate’s brochure and reply to one of your classmate’s brochures with either an INSIGHTFUL question or comment.
Have fun and I can’t wait to see what careers you all choose! =)
