Instructions:
1. Choose an Environmental Issue:
○ Select an environmental problem related to waste (e.g., plastic pollution, food
waste). This will be the focus of your zero-waste product.
(Your product should be original and not currently available on the market.)
Examples of similar products:
○ Beeswax Wraps: Reusable alternative to plastic wrap.
○ Bamboo Toothbrush: Biodegradable handle, replaces plastic toothbrush.
○ Bar Shampoo: Solid form, no plastic packaging.
○ Stainless Steel Water Bottle: Reusable, replaces plastic bottles.
○ Reusable Cloth Diapers: Washable, reduces disposable diaper waste.
2. Design and Prototype:
○ Create a new, zero-waste product with a solution that addresses a sustainability
issue. Consider eco-friendly materials, ethical and fair trade production methods, and
ways to reduce or eliminate waste.
3. Research and Analyze:
○ Use AI tools to assist with your research on the environmental issue and existing
solutions. (e.g., Chat-GPT)

○ Identify the key challenges your product addresses and how it fits into the circular
economy.
4. AI Video Creation:
○ Work individually to create a 1-minute youtube short video using AI tools (e.g.,
Pictory, Synthesia, InVideo).
○ The video should showcase your product, explain its benefits, and highlight how it
contributes to a circular life cycle.
5. Reflection:
○ A 100 word reflection on the potential impact and challenges of your design.
○ How does your product relate to circular design?
○ How could your product could influence consumer behavior and its potential impact
on the environment and society.
○ Reflect on the challenges you might face in getting consumers or companies to
adopt your sustainable solution.
6. Virtual Expo Presentation:
○ Present your project during the Virtual AI-Powered Sustainability Expo. Be
prepared to discuss your design process, the environmental issue you tackled, and
how your product promotes sustainability.
7. Submission:
○ Submit a PDF file on Omnivox summarizing:
■ The environmental issue and research findings.
■ Your product concept and prototype.
