Education Leadership and Diversity
For this assignment, you must choose one case study to write about. The case studies each focus on an area of diversity as explored in the unit:
1. Gender
2. Sexuality
3. Disability
4. Poverty, disadvantage and ‘class’
5. Race and ethnicity
You must read, understand, and examine the details of the case study before using the case study you have chosen to answer the assignment questions.
Below, are documents containing each of the case studies, and the assignment questions.
The assignment is 3000 words in total (split between three questions)
Use one case study to answer the following questions:
1. Describe and critically discuss the key issues presented in the case study (1200 words)
(You should draw on what you have learned in lectures/readings to consider what the problems are here. Explore who is being dis/advantaged, why and how.)
2. Critically discuss the role that leaders, leadership, and leading could play in addressing the issues presented in the case study (1200 words)
(You should draw on transformative leadership and consider the extent to which educational leadership should have a role in addressing the issues)
3. Describe a practical strategy which could be put into place to address the issues presented. Explain why you have chosen this strategy (600 words)
(You can draw on mechanisms introduced in your lectures or think about your own practical experience)
