- 2. Recognize how an ad targets a particular audience
Material needed: At least THREE (no more than five) print and TV ads; you can also download advertisements from the internet.
Instructions: Create a PowerPoint presentation with at least 8- Content slides. In your own words, answer ALL of the following questions:
- 1. What is the difference between central route to persuasion and peripheral route to persuasion?
- 2. Using your knowledge of persuasion, select three advertisement (print or internet ads) for different products. Remember to choose tasteful (non-sexual) ads for this activity.
- 3. Describe the product being advertised.
- a. Is the ad using the central or peripheral route to persuasion?
- b. Would you buy this product based on the advertisement? Why or why not?
- c. Imagine you are the executive for an advertisement agency overseeing the accounts for your selected ads. The companies want to reach a different demographic, how would you attract the new audience for the product(s)?
